Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Software Engineering Manager to work remotely, who will provide guidance and mentorship to software engineers, contribute to product success through collaboration, and lead technical direction in projects while fostering a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of engineers, focusing on performance improvement and major design decisions
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, and designers to achieve business outcomes
• Oversee the management of critical production services, including operational concerns and incident response

Required Qualifications

• Substantial experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams, including performance evaluations and career development
• Background in building and operating production services with high availability and performance targets
• Expertise in managing on-call rotations and incident response
• Experience developing in Go, which is used for much of the system
• Ability to independently evaluate complex technical tradeoffs in design discussions
