SOGI Data Quality Consultant

Job Summary

Working remotely on a part-time basis, the SOGI Data Quality Consultant will assess the availability and quality of health data disaggregated by sexual orientation and gender identity, coordinate with national counterparts, and prepare technical reports and recommendations to enhance the use of SOGI data across the Americas.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a regional assessment of SOGI data quality and availability in health data sources, including statistical and administrative records
• Develop a methodological protocol for assessing the completeness and validity of SOGI data and coordinate information collection with national health authorities
• Prepare technical reports and presentations in both Spanish and English, incorporating findings and recommendations for improving data disaggregation practices

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, demography, statistics, social sciences, or related fields
• At least eight years of relevant professional experience, including work with international organizations
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing census questionnaires, population surveys, and health information systems
• Experience working with data related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and LGBTQI+ populations is highly desirable
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English at a professional level for coordination and documentation purposes
