Solutions Engineer
Job Summary
To support innovative enterprises in architecting secure API ecosystems, the full-time remote Staff Solutions Engineer will act as a trusted technical advisor, conducting discovery conversations, supporting proof of concepts, and ensuring customer satisfaction across assigned accounts.
Key responsibilities:
- Support field sales by helping customers understand the value of the Kong API and AI connectivity platform
- Conduct discovery conversations to map customer requirements to Kong solutions and own technical validation during evaluations
- Lead API Management and AI Governance evaluations, delivering demonstrations and running Technical Feasibility Workshops
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of software engineering and/or solutions engineering experience at a SaaS, open source, or enterprise software company
- Proven track record of owning complex, enterprise-level deals with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native platforms
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tooling and knowledge of AI/LLM architectures
- Strong understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and API security patterns
