Job Summary
To enhance clinical documentation integrity, the full-time South Carolina Licensed CDI Reviewer will conduct advanced second-level reviews of inpatient clinical indicators and treatment plans, ensuring compliance and accuracy prior to final billing, while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform advanced second-level reviews on assigned inpatients to identify gaps in physician documentation
- Conduct post-discharge reviews that influence clinical metrics and financial outcomes
- Provide guidance on DRG mismatches and coordinate with coding staff on outstanding queries
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited institution
- Ten years of nursing experience, with at least three years in Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI)
- Certification as a CDI specialist from ACDIS or AHIMA required within six months of hire
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in South Carolina or a compact state
- Extensive knowledge of patient care and clinical measurement tools
