Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the South Carolina Licensed CDI Reviewer will conduct advanced second-level reviews of clinical documentation, evaluate inpatient treatment plans, and identify gaps in physician documentation to enhance financial outcomes and quality metrics.
Key responsibilities
- Perform advanced second-level reviews and post-discharge evaluations for assigned inpatients
- Respond to concurrent review requests and provide guidance on DRG mismatches
- Coordinate with coders regarding outstanding queries and documentation requests
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited school
- Ten years of nursing experience, with at least three years in Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI)
- Certification as a CDI specialist from ACDIS or AHIMA required within six months of hiring
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Extensive knowledge of patient care and clinical measurement tools
