Job Summary

To support the revenue cycle operations, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Coder will accurately assign codes for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service diagnoses and procedures in accordance with official coding guidelines while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Assign accurate codes for all diagnoses and procedures based on patient medical records
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines from relevant medical associations
• Collaborate with the Health Information Management Department to adhere to approved policies and procedures

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) preferred
• Basic knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10 and CPT
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
• Expertise in using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
