Job Summary

To ensure accurate coding practices, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Coder will assign codes for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service diagnoses and procedures while adhering to official coding guidelines in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assign accurate codes for all diagnoses and procedures based on patient medical records
• Utilize ICD-10 and CPT classification systems in accordance with official coding guidelines
• Maintain compliance with Health Information Management Department policies and procedures

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of coding experience in a specialty area required
• RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, CPC-A, or other coding credential required
