Job Summary

To ensure accurate coding of medical records, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Coder will assign codes for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service diagnoses and procedures remotely, following official coding guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures in patient medical records using ICD-10 and CPT systems
• Adhere to official coding guidelines from relevant medical associations and internal policies
• Collaborate with the Health Information Management Department to maintain coding accuracy and compliance

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years of coding experience required
• Valid coding credential such as RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, or CPC-A required
