Job Summary

To ensure accurate coding for a variety of medical services, the full-time South Carolina Licensed Coder will assign codes for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service diagnoses and procedures while adhering to official coding guidelines in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assign accurate codes for all inpatient, outpatient, and emergency service diagnoses and procedures based on patient medical records
• Utilize classification systems including ICD-10 and CPT while following official coding guidelines from relevant associations
• Ensure compliance with Health Information Management Department policies and procedures throughout the coding process

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years of coding experience required
• Current coding credential such as RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, or CPC-A required
