Speaking Test Development Manager

Job Summary

Overseeing the development of Speaking test items and materials for the WIDA suite of assessments, the full-time Manager, Speaking Test Development will manage the test development process, provide feedback to staff, and collaborate on scoring materials, with the option to work remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage test development staff in writing, reviewing, and revising Speaking test items based on specifications and guidelines
• Oversee the creation and quality control of scoring materials and training for external reviewers related to the Speaking test
• Coordinate project plans and timelines for test item development, ensuring alignment with educational standards and stakeholder feedback

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least two years of relevant experience in a related field
• Expertise in developing large-scale spoken English language proficiency assessments for K-12 multilingual learners
• Experience supervising test item development in high-stakes contexts and managing complex assessment projects
• Deep familiarity with the spoken language requirements for K-12 multilingual learners in U.S. school settings
• Experience teaching K-12 multilingual learners in U.S. educational contexts
