Specialty Insurance Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking a Specialty Insurance Underwriter on a full-time contract basis, this remote position will involve annotating insurance documents, reviewing AI-generated outputs, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure accurate representation of specialty insurance practices.

Key responsibilities

• Annotate limits structures within excess policies and produce structured conclusions regarding coverage responses to various scenarios
• Review AI-generated outputs, correct mislabeled data, and establish scoring criteria for performance evaluation
• Translate insurance practice into product requirements, ensuring the AI accurately reflects industry standards and conventions

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in excess and specialty insurance, with 5+ years preferred
• Experience as an underwriter, coverage attorney, or consultant in excess and specialty (E&S) insurance
• Ability to read and interpret insurance policies, including declarations, forms, and endorsements
• Strong understanding of coverage interpretation and the nuances of specialty insurance
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex insurance concepts to non-experts
