SQL Database Administrator II
Job Summary
To ensure the reliability and performance of database environments, the full-time SQL Database Administrator II will administer and troubleshoot SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL platforms remotely while collaborating with various technology teams to optimize operations and enhance security.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the health and reliability of SQL Server environments across Production, Staging, and Development, ensuring availability in accordance with SLAs, SLOs, RTOs, and RPOs
- Monitor and optimize database performance and capacity using diagnostic tools to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Strengthen database security and resilience by implementing robust backup, restore, and disaster-recovery strategies
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on SQL Server transactional database administration experience
- Strong expertise in SQL Server administration, including configuration, security, and operational support
- Experience with AWS database services, particularly RDS and related technologies
- Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell for automation and operational workflows
- An associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
