Staff AI Engineer
Job Summary
Partnering with a cross-functional team, the full-time Staff AI Engineer will design, develop, and support AI software components while working remotely to enhance customer interactions and internal processes at Capital One.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, research scientists, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
- Design and implement AI software components, including model training and evaluation
- Set the technical direction for enterprise-wide AI architecture and champion responsible AI principles
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields plus 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of experience in AI and ML
- At least 8 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java
- Experience designing and deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms
- Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics with expertise in AI optimization techniques
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
