Staff AI Engineer
Job Summary
As the technical lead for the AI Core team, the full-time Staff AI Engineer will focus on the architecture and development of the Compass platform, overseeing multi-agent systems, API integrations, and ensuring the reliability of LLM-powered features in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for Compass and architect multi-agent systems while balancing experimentation with scalable architecture
- Lead the design and evolution of MCP servers, A2A integrations, and APIs connecting agents to the Basis media buying toolkit
- Drive large-scale technical projects, ensuring quality and process while mentoring team members and fostering collaboration
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on LLM-powered applications or agent systems
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and experience architecting production APIs and backend services
- Deep experience building production-grade agentic systems using frameworks like LangChain or Strands
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and communicate complex systems effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Thoughtful approach to collaboration and a commitment to creating inclusive environments
