Staff Analytics Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Staff Analytics Engineer to lead the evolution of the Analytics Engineering platform, building trusted data models and establishing engineering standards while working remotely or from the San Francisco office.
Key responsibilities
- Own the architecture of the Analytics Engineering platform, ensuring data quality and scalability for AI-assisted analytics
- Design and maintain governed dbt models that serve as authoritative sources for business-critical metrics across various teams
- Define and improve engineering practices for data modeling, testing, documentation, and CI/CD to enhance reliability and reduce technical debt
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field, with at least 3 years of hands-on dbt experience
- Expert-level SQL skills and experience designing scalable Kimball dimensional models
- Deep expertise in modern Analytics Engineering practices, including Git, testing, and data governance
- Strong understanding of cloud data warehouse architecture, particularly with platforms like BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake
- Proven ability to collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to develop scalable, maintainable data models
