Staff Application Security Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the application security strategy remotely, the full-time Staff Application Security Engineer will tackle complex AppSec challenges across product and AI-powered features, mentor teams, and shape secure engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multi-year AppSec strategy and coordinate cross-team initiatives to achieve Security department objectives
• Conduct security architecture reviews and threat modeling for high-scale systems, defining approaches for unprecedented challenges
• Set standards for AI-augmented AppSec practices and drive the adoption of secure building blocks across teams

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering or application security with a proven track record of leading AppSec strategy
• Expertise in code review, penetration testing, and exploit development, with a strong ability to identify design flaws
• Proficient in software development, particularly with Ruby on Rails, Python, and strong Linux and cloud fundamentals
• Deep understanding of secure architecture and authentication patterns, with experience in building security frameworks
• Hands-on experience securing AI-powered systems and a clear perspective on the impact of AI on application security
