Staff Applied Researcher

Job Summary

To support the AI Foundations team, the full-time Staff Applied Researcher will drive strategic direction through collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products, leveraging advanced technologies to build AI foundation models and engage in impactful applied research in a remote-eligible environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver innovative AI solutions
• Build and implement AI foundation models across all development phases, from design to deployment
• Define and guide research directions that align with the organization's long-term scientific agenda

Required qualifications:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or related fields plus 4 years of experience in Applied Research, or M.S. in the same fields plus 6 years of experience
• Hands-on experience developing AI foundation models using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms
• Demonstrated ability to own and pursue a research agenda, including impactful research problem selection
• Experience building large deep learning models and understanding of AI methodologies
• Track record of publications in top-tier AI and ML conferences
