Staff Applied Scientist

Job Summary

To drive impactful media buying strategies, the full-time remote Staff Applied Scientist will build and validate models for auto insurance shopper conversion, manage production data, and collaborate closely with an ML engineer to optimize marketplace bidding.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement models to determine optimal carrier visibility for auto insurance shoppers
• Utilize carrier conversion data to enhance media buying models and improve return on ad spend (ROAS)
• Monitor and maintain production models, ensuring they adapt to market changes and user behavior

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with demonstrable business impact
• Proven experience in building models that influence paid media decisions, including spend and bidding
• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including loss functions and architecture choices
• Expertise in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis
• Experience managing end-to-end model development, from data sourcing to deployment and monitoring
