Job Summary

Building and validating models for media buying, the full-time remote Staff Applied Scientist will focus on optimizing auto insurance carrier visibility and conversion rates while managing data-driven decision-making processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement models to determine optimal carrier visibility for auto insurance shoppers
• Analyze carrier conversion data to enhance media buying strategies and improve return on ad spend (ROAS)
• Collaborate with an ML engineer to deploy and monitor production models, ensuring they adapt to market changes

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with measurable business impact
• Proven track record of building models that drive paid media decisions, including spend and bidding
• Expertise in Python and SQL, with a deep understanding of machine learning fundamentals
• Experience managing models end to end, from data sourcing to deployment and monitoring
• Ability to handle challenges related to late labels, sparse features, and data drift
