Staff Applied Scientist

Job Summary

To drive impactful media buying strategies, the full-time remote Staff Applied Scientist will build and validate models for auto insurance carrier conversions and media spend optimization, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and an ML engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Build and validate models to optimize carrier visibility for auto insurance shoppers on the click wall
• Own the media buying models, ensuring they meet return on ad spend (ROAS) objectives
• Monitor and manage production models to adapt to data drift and changing market conditions

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with measurable business impact
• Proven experience in building models that drive paid media decisions, including spend and bidding
• Strong understanding of neural network fundamentals and model architecture choices
• Expertise in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis
• Experience managing models end to end, from data sourcing to deployment and monitoring
