Staff Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
Designing and building core components of a transaction platform, the full-time Staff Backend Software Engineer will work remotely to ensure correctness under failure, scale the platform, and mentor fellow engineers while engaging with product and compliance teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build core parts of the transaction platform, ensuring correctness and scalability
- Write design documentation and conduct code reviews for team members
- Own production deployments, including tracing, alerts, and incident follow-ups
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in building backend systems, with a focus on distributed systems
- Strong proficiency in Go or another statically typed backend language (Java, Kotlin, Rust, C#)
- In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and cloud services (AWS or GCP)
- Experience with AI-native engineering and coding agents
- Understanding of security fundamentals for sensitive data management
