Staff Compiler Performance Engineer

Job Summary

To set the technical direction for Falcon performance, the full-time Staff Compiler Performance Engineer will identify performance opportunities, lead design optimizations, and make architectural decisions while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Define the performance strategy for Falcon by identifying opportunities across benchmarks and customer workloads
• Lead the design of complex optimizations in the optimizer and code generator, and manage interfaces with the runtime and garbage collector
• Mentor senior engineers and represent the company in the LLVM community through design discussions and contributions

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience developing optimizing or JIT compilers
• Proven track record of technical leadership in compiler design and optimization frameworks
• Expertise in C++ and experience with large, long-lived codebases
• Deep knowledge of compiler optimization and code generation trade-offs
• Strong performance analysis skills at the microarchitecture level
