Staff Data Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the design and scaling of the data platform, the full-time Staff Data Engineer will architect production data pipelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable data flow for AI-powered vegetation analysis, working remotely from specific time zones in Europe and Eastern North America.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and evolve orchestration layer asset graphs and data quality checks for scalable data pipelines
- Design and maintain production data pipelines for large-scale geospatial and temporal data from ingestion to delivery
- Mentor engineers and establish standards for building, testing, and operating data systems
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience designing and building production-grade data pipelines and systems
- Deep hands-on experience with Dagster or comparable orchestration tools
- Strong system design skills with a focus on service-oriented architecture
- Proficient in Python and experienced with Google Cloud
- Experience with event-driven patterns and building scalable data systems
