Staff Data Engineer

Job Summary

Owning Moxie's data infrastructure end to end, the full-time Staff Data Engineer will manage data pipelines, warehouses, and modeling layers while ensuring the reliability and accuracy of business-critical data in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the data stack is owned, alerted, lineage-mapped, and documented within six months, providing defensible metrics for reporting
• Maintain and evolve dbt models and manage orchestration layers while delivering high-impact projects within the first quarter
• Establish standard operating procedures and key performance indicators for data processes, optimizing the data stack proactively

Required qualifications

• 5-10 years of data engineering experience, with a background as an early data hire
• Strong expertise in dbt and SQL modeling, particularly in financial concepts
• Proficient in Python and experience with orchestration tools like Prefect or Airflow
• Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end project delivery and articulate business value
• Fluency with AI tooling and an understanding of its application within data stacks
