Staff Data Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the design and governance of a modern cloud-based data platform, the full-time Staff Data Engineer, Tech Lead will manage architecture direction, oversee cross-functional initiatives, and drive technical alignment while working in a hybrid environment based in Palo Alto.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the technical leader for data engineering, making design decisions and setting standards
- Lead high-impact initiatives from scoping to delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Define and enforce data governance strategies, ensuring data quality and compliance across the organization
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 8+ years of data engineering experience, including 3+ years in senior or staff-level roles
- Proven expertise in data ingestion frameworks and cloud-native data platforms like Snowflake or BigQuery
- Experience building machine learning deployment infrastructure in collaboration with data science teams
- Strong command of SQL and Python, with a focus on designing performant, reusable components
