Job Summary
Owning the architecture and technical standards for the data platform, the full-time Staff Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Python on AWS while ensuring data quality and governance in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Define and own the architecture, technical standards, and coding practices for the data platform
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Python using AWS Glue
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into reliable, well-documented data products
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a hybrid data/software engineering role
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL, including experience with production data pipelines and query optimization
- Hands-on experience with AWS data services, including Glue, S3, and Redshift
- Experience handling sensitive data with appropriate access controls and compliance practices
- Demonstrated experience setting technical direction and standards for engineering teams
