Job Summary
To enhance the quality and scalability of data engineering in a remote setting, the full-time Staff Data Engineer will lead complex initiatives, establish engineering standards, and empower teams to develop reliable data solutions independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead diagnosis and remediation of Snowflake performance issues, establishing approaches for workload optimization and cost visibility
- Define and implement dbt project conventions and promote maintainable transformation design across teams
- Establish repeatable data quality and operational excellence practices, improving monitoring and incident triage processes
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of software or data engineering experience
- Expert-level, hands-on experience with Snowflake, including query profiling and performance tuning
- Extensive production experience with dbt, including model design and CI/CD practices
- Advanced SQL and strong Python skills for building reusable tools and data workflows
- Experience operating large-scale cloud data platforms and ensuring pipeline reliability
