Staff Data Scientist

Job Summary

To support the Watchlist Data Science team, the full-time Staff Data Scientist will tackle complex challenges in entity matching and classification, focusing on scaling real-time matching engines and developing advanced NLP models, while working remotely or from designated hubs.

Key responsibilities

• Improve data quality and enrichment through advanced ingestion pipelines and rigorous quality analysis
• Build and enhance NLP systems for entity resolution, ensuring accurate deduplication and profile management
• Design and scale NLP models for real-time identity classification and risk scoring across diverse data sources

Required qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience
• 7+ years of experience in data science or machine learning, particularly in NLP, entity resolution, or information extraction
• Experience in AML, sanctions screening, or financial crime detection is strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with NLP pipelines for entity extraction and named entity recognition at production scale
• Strong proficiency in Python and major ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, spaCy, HuggingFace Transformers)
