Staff Data Scientist

Job Summary

Leading the design and oversight of complex models for customer lifetime value, the full-time remote Staff Data Scientist will manage interdependent modeling workflows that influence marketing investments and product decisions while collaborating with machine learning engineers and guiding team members.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical leader throughout the modeling lifecycle, from exploratory analysis to production support
• Lead initiatives across models predicting customer conversion, retention, and claim losses, shaping significant business decisions
• Analyze model interactions and performance, prioritizing enhancements based on business value and guiding quarterly planning

Required qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field
• 8+ years of experience in high-impact data science work, including predictive modeling and experimentation
• Strong expertise in survival analysis and statistical modeling techniques
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in maintaining large codebases and using modern modeling frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to frame complex modeling problems and deliver high-quality results while coaching team members
