Staff Data Scientist

Job Summary

To support the growth of our media buying capabilities, the remote Staff Data Scientist will build and validate models for auto insurance carrier selection and media spend optimization, ensuring high conversion rates and effective data utilization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement models that optimize carrier selection for auto insurance shoppers on the click wall
• Manage media buying models to ensure return on ad spend (ROAS) is met and improved over time
• Collaborate with business teams to frame problems, gather data, and monitor model performance post-deployment

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with demonstrable business impact
• Proven experience in building models that influence paid media decisions, including spend and bidding strategies
• Strong understanding of neural network fundamentals and the ability to explain technical choices in detail
• Experience managing data challenges such as late labels, sparse features, and model drift
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and model development
