Staff Data Scientist

Job Summary

To enhance lead generation efforts, the full-time remote Staff Data Scientist will build and optimize models for auto insurance carrier selection and media buying, ensuring effective conversion strategies and data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate models that match auto insurance shoppers with the most suitable carriers based on conversion likelihood
• Manage media buying models focused on return on ad spend (ROAS) and oversee the integration of carrier conversion data into production
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to frame problems, source data, and monitor model performance post-deployment

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with measurable business impact
• Proven track record of building models that drive paid media decisions, including spend and bidding
• Expertise in Python and SQL, with a deep understanding of machine learning fundamentals
• Experience in managing models end-to-end, including data sourcing, deployment, and monitoring
• Familiarity with handling late labels, sparse features, and data drift in model training
