Staff Data Scientist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time salaried Staff Data Scientist will build and validate models to optimize auto insurance carrier conversions and manage media buying, ensuring effective data utilization and performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement models that match auto insurance shoppers with the most suitable carriers to enhance conversion rates
• Manage media buying strategies based on carrier conversion data and optimize for return on ad spend (ROAS)
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to frame problems, identify data sources, and oversee the deployment and monitoring of models

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with measurable business impact
• Proven track record of building models that drive paid media decisions, including spend and bidding strategies
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL, with the ability to explain technical details of models and architectures
• Experience managing models end-to-end, including data sourcing, building, deployment, and monitoring
• Familiarity with challenges such as late labels, sparse features, and model drift
