Staff Data Scientist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time salaried Staff Data Scientist will build and validate models for auto insurance carrier conversions and media buying, directly impacting customer acquisition outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement models that optimize carrier visibility for auto insurance shoppers based on conversion likelihood
• Manage media buying models to ensure effective return on ad spend (ROAS) and leverage carrier conversion data in production
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to frame problems, find data, and monitor model performance post-deployment

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with measurable business impact
• Proven experience in driving paid media decisions through model development, including spend and bidding strategies
• Strong understanding of neural network fundamentals and the ability to explain technical details of models
• Experience managing data challenges such as late labels, sparse features, and model drift
• Expertise in Python and SQL for data manipulation and model building
