Staff Data Scientist

Job Summary

To drive impactful media buying decisions, the full-time remote Staff Data Scientist will build and validate models for auto insurance carrier conversion and media spend optimization, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and an ML engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy models that optimize carrier visibility for auto insurance shoppers, enhancing conversion rates
• Utilize carrier conversion data to refine production models and improve media buying strategies based on return on ad spend (ROAS)
• Monitor and maintain models in production, ensuring they adapt to market changes and user behavior over time

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science experience with a focus on measurable business impact
• Proven experience in building models that drive paid media decisions, including spend and bidding strategies
• Strong understanding of neural network fundamentals and ability to explain technical details of past projects
• Experience handling data challenges such as late labels, sparse features, and model drift
• Expertise in Python and SQL for data manipulation and model building
