Staff Design Systems Lead

Job Summary

Building and leading a design system from the ground up, the full-time Staff Design Systems Lead will set the vision, create foundational components, and ensure the system is AI-ready while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Set the design system's vision and direction, preserving and evolving components based on user needs
• Build foundational elements hands-on, establishing quality standards and guidance for the system
• Lead and develop a team dedicated to the design system, fostering an environment for high-quality work

Required qualifications

• Proven experience in setting direction and delivering outcomes in design systems or design engineering
• Exceptional visual and interaction design skills with a strong portfolio demonstrating craft and simplicity
• Deep systems thinking with a track record of creating adoptable systems that enhance speed and quality
• Strong technical fluency, including prototyping in code and understanding front-end architecture
• Experience using AI in design work and a clear perspective on AI-ready design systems
