Staff Developer Platform Engineer
Job Summary
Driving infrastructure and deployment excellence, the full-time remote Staff Developer Platform Engineer will manage GitLab operations, pipeline orchestration, and DevOps support for third-party connectors while collaborating with engineering teams to enhance deployment safety and tool adoption.
Key responsibilities:
- Evolve GitLab at scale within GCP/GKE, focusing on governance, permissions, and pipeline infrastructure
- Design and implement pipeline orchestration and progressive-delivery systems using Argo Rollouts and Kargo
- Partner with connectors teams to manage DevOps for third-party connectors, ensuring effective build and deployment pipelines
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps/Platform Engineer, or SRE, with proven Staff-level impact
- Deep experience administering GitLab or a comparable SCM/CI platform at scale, preferably in a self-hosted environment
- Proven experience designing CI/CD pipeline and orchestration systems, including progressive-delivery tooling
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud infrastructure, with a preference for GCP
- Experience coaching engineers and driving adoption of new tooling across teams
