Staff Engineer - AI Commerce
Job Summary
To support the development of AI-driven storefront solutions, the full-time remote Staff Engineer - AI Commerce will design and build AI agents, enhance autonomous product systems, and drive technical quality while collaborating closely with engineering and product leads.
Key responsibilities
- Own the design and execution of AI agents and evaluation systems to enhance Phoenix's copy-site capabilities
- Build infrastructure for autonomous product systems that generate and optimize storefront experiences using AI
- Design APIs, data models, and technical architecture for the AI-native storefront platform, ensuring high-quality engineering practices
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in building production web platforms with a focus on architecture and hands-on development
- Proven experience with production systems involving LLMs and AI agents, including evaluation and observability practices
- Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
- Strong fundamentals in API design, data modeling, and distributed systems
- Demonstrated ability to operate with high ownership and a builder mentality in ambiguous environments
