Staff Engineer for AI Services

Job Summary

As a founding engineer, the full-time remote Staff Engineer for AI Services will spearhead the development of AI-native services, shaping architecture, building production agents, and collaborating with design customers to create reusable solutions while influencing team growth.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate production agents and workflows, ensuring seamless orchestration and data connections
• Collaborate with design customers to map workflows and develop solutions based on live data
• Establish evaluation harnesses for monitoring and improving AI agent performance post-launch

Required qualifications

• Experience building and operating at least one AI agent or agentic workflow in production
• Strong engineering judgment in areas such as models, APIs, and observability
• Direct experience working with customers in discovery, implementation, or incident resolution
• Ability to break down complex workflows into deterministic steps and define testing criteria
• Experience in a regulated domain (e.g., payroll, payments) is a plus
