Staff Engineer, State Estimation

Job Summary

To develop cutting-edge estimation and navigation technology for autonomous systems, the full-time Staff Engineer, State Estimation will research and implement state-of-the-art algorithms, design production-grade C++ software for embedded systems, and ensure system robustness through rigorous testing, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop state estimation and navigation algorithms for GPS-denied environments
• Design and deploy production-grade C++ software for embedded robotic systems
• Build and maintain rigorous testing frameworks to ensure system safety and performance

Required qualifications

• M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field; 2+ years of experience with an M.S. or 0 years with a Ph.D
• Professional proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 or newer) with strong object-oriented design skills
• Experience deploying low-latency C++ applications to embedded Linux platforms
• Experience designing and implementing state estimation algorithms (e.g., EKF, UKF, Particle Filters)
• Familiarity with VIO, SLAM, or multi-sensor fusion frameworks
