Staff Firmware Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a hands-on technical leader, the full-time remote Staff Firmware Engineer will drive the development of intelligent video and AI-driven safety solutions, owning outcomes across embedded systems, backend services, and user interfaces.
Key responsibilities
- Own outcomes from customer problems to shipped features across firmware, backend services, and web/mobile interfaces
- Drive technology choices and implement embedded and firmware solutions with a significant impact on product architecture
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define and build next-generation devices and ensure high-quality AI algorithm performance at the edge
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software design, development, and deployment, with significant expertise in embedded systems and firmware
- Proven experience shipping products across the stack, including firmware, backend services, and web/mobile applications
- Strong programming skills in C/C++, Go, Python, or similar languages
- Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex projects with multiple dependencies
- Experience using AI tools in engineering work and enhancing team AI fluency
