Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the personalization domain, the full-time Staff Machine Learning Engineer will build and optimize models for homepage feeds, recommendations, and search personalization, while working remotely and collaborating across teams to ensure effective customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Transform fuzzy business problems into production models, ensuring they deliver real customer value
• Develop custom embeddings from raw data and manage the full lifecycle of machine learning models, including orchestration and monitoring
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to shape project direction and coach senior engineers through complex technical decisions

Required qualifications

• Proven experience in shipping production machine learning models, particularly in recommender systems or personalization at scale
• Strong proficiency in the Python ML ecosystem, including libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, and PyTorch
• Experience building custom representations from raw data rather than relying on off-the-shelf solutions
• Ability to architect solutions from scratch and own projects end-to-end
• Demonstrated impact through measurable customer outcomes or dependencies on your models across multiple surfaces
