Staff Machine Learning Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the AI behind Altana Nexus, the full-time Staff Machine Learning Engineer will drive the technical direction for agentic systems, build reliable data ingestion pipelines, and adapt models for real-time risk and compliance decisions, with the option to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity from various U.S. locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the technical direction for agentic systems, defining architecture and roadmap for processing trade data
- Build and lead the design of reliable systems for data ingestion, document understanding, and model inference
- Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape product capabilities and business ideas
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience building and shipping ML systems in production, with a focus on product-oriented ML solutions
- Deep expertise in PyTorch and the modern Python ML stack (Hugging Face, scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas/Polars)
- Hands-on experience with production LLM applications and adapting models for specific use cases
- Proven track record of building evaluation suites and rigorous assessment processes for ML models
