Job Summary

Defining the technical future of Quora's recommendation ecosystem, the full-time Staff Machine Learning Engineer will set the direction for feed ranking and retrieval, lead impactful modeling projects, and integrate LLMs and generative models, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for Quora's home feed recommendation systems
• Lead high-impact projects across the recommender stack, focusing on candidate generation, retrieval, and ranking
• Drive improvements in user engagement and content quality through well-designed online experiments

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience in machine learning
• 4+ years of experience building and optimizing home feed recommendation systems for social media platforms
• Deep knowledge of the full recommender stack, including candidate generation and multi-objective optimization
• Experience leading large-scale ML projects end-to-end with measurable outcomes
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science
