Staff Motion Designer

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled Staff Motion Designer for a full-time remote position, responsible for defining and evolving Pinterest's motion design language, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and creating scalable design contributions that enhance user experiences across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve motion design principles, patterns, and specifications for cohesive user experiences
• Lead motion direction for flagship experiences, ensuring clarity and responsiveness through strategic motion design
• Rapidly prototype and validate motion ideas, collaborating closely with engineering to implement complex animations

Required qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in motion design, product design, or interaction design with a strong portfolio
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and shape design direction without formal authority
• Deep understanding of motion and interaction design principles, including timing and transitions
• Experience in creating scalable motion systems and partnering closely with engineers for implementation
• Bachelor's degree in design, animation, human-computer interaction, or a related field
