Staff Networking Engineer
Job Summary
Owning the network architecture and operations for GroqMetal's management plane and tenant clusters, the full-time Staff Networking Platform Engineer will manage networking capabilities, automate Kubernetes-native processes, and ensure production reliability while working onsite in the New York City Metropolitan Area.
Key responsibilities
- Translate customer connectivity and performance requirements into supported networking platform features
- Build Kubernetes-native automation for managing tenant networks and node membership throughout their lifecycle
- Own dynamic configuration of tenant networks, including BGP, routing policies, and VLANs, ensuring isolation and connectivity
Required qualifications
- Deep knowledge of networking services and data center infrastructure, including TCP/IP and BGP
- Experience with bare-metal data center networking and tenant separation technologies
- Strong background in Kubernetes and Linux networking, including CNI behavior and network policy
- Proficiency in Kubernetes-native development, network automation, and GitOps practices
- Experience with fabric management and IPAM systems like Netris or NetBox
