Job Summary
Leading high-impact projects within the FinOps team, the full-time Staff Product Engineer (Backend) will provide technical leadership, shape architectural decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance payments and transactions systems in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Become a primary individual contributor on the FinOps team, ramping up on workflows and contributing to project velocity within three months
- Deliver targeted backend improvements and lead significant projects from design to production within the first six months
- Own non-project technical initiatives and contribute to engineering culture, achieving measurable gains in quality or velocity
Required qualifications
- 8-12 years of backend engineering experience, including senior or staff-level roles
- Proven experience leading large initiatives and influencing architecture across teams
- Depth in financial, payments, or transactions systems with a strong understanding of backend and API design
- A record of establishing engineering standards and practices, such as unit testing and code review
- Experience working closely with Product, Design, and engineering teams to unblock complex decisions
