Staff Python Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Staff Python Engineer for a remote independent contractor engagement, who will design and deliver backend features in Python for large-scale enterprise SaaS while managing and optimizing data pipelines for analytics and visualization.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement backend features and data models for high-volume sensor data processing
- Provide technical guidance and architectural input across backend initiatives, ensuring compliance with best practices
- Build reliable APIs and integrations that maintain consistency between systems under various operational conditions
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software development experience with Python and Django
- Proven experience with large, complex backend SaaS applications
- Strong skills in modeling complex data systems and delivering scalable solutions
- Hands-on experience supporting production code and iterating based on customer feedback
- Familiarity with Celery, RabbitMQ, and TimescaleDB/Athena is a plus
