Staff Security Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the security of cloud applications and AI systems, the remote Staff Security Engineer will define security architecture, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the systems delivered are secure and reliable.
Key responsibilities
- Define security architecture and engineering standards across web, API, and cloud-native systems
- Lead threat modeling and security design reviews, prioritizing risk identification
- Integrate security automation into CI/CD pipelines, enhancing detection and policy-as-code practices
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of professional security or software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in application and cloud security
- Deep expertise in application security and secure coding practices, including the OWASP Top 10
- Strong experience with threat modeling, penetration testing, and vulnerability management
- Extensive cloud security expertise across identity, network, and data layers
- Experience securing AI and LLM-powered applications, addressing prompt injection and data leakage threats
