Staff Software Architect
Job Summary
Leading the system design and hands-on delivery of a data-intensive web product on Microsoft Azure, the full-time Staff Software Architect will shape application architecture, write critical code, and ensure performance and scalability while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver a performant data-intensive web application, managing services, APIs, and integrations
- Make architectural decisions and document system shapes based on performance, security, and operational complexity
- Set standards for authentication, observability, automated testing, and continuous delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative field; advanced degrees are a plus
- Experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Software Architect with a focus on large-scale web applications
- Proficiency in Java, with experience in Go and/or Python, and familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Next.js
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, API design, distributed systems, and SQL optimization
- Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code
