Staff Software Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the technical direction for the Foundations team, the full-time Staff Software Backend Engineer will own the architecture of core services related to authentication, access control, and customer management while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the architecture of the Platform Authorization Service (PAS) and set the technical direction for identity and access control services
- Lead the delivery of Foundations core services, mentoring the engineering team through daily technical work
- Define API contracts for platform services and collaborate with product management to align technical plans with product priorities
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of software development experience with technical ownership of a platform or infrastructure area
- 3+ years of experience in a B2B software startup or high-growth organization
- Direct experience with authentication and authorization systems such as OAuth or SSO
- Backend programming experience in Python and Go
- Strong fundamentals in Linux and distributed systems
